This lesson really helped get my students to view art in new ways. In a free write following the lesson, many of my students expressed that it changed their idea of contemporary art: that it is really quite meaningful and not just “weird.” My students were lucky enough to see the works at the museum, so they were able to appreciate the works for both their scale and detail. Overall, this lesson is a great introduction to contemporary art.

This lesson was a really great way for my students to view art first hand. The work inspired them and also help them to further develop a language around contemporary art. I also think they walked away from this visit better understanding contemporary art.
